Role of the Science New Zealand board
- To set the strategic direction for Science New Zealand
- To provide a forum for exchange of views amongst chief executives and development of ideas related to the purposes and principles of the Crown Research Institutes
- To discuss and agree policy for Science New Zealand
- From time to time, sub-committees comprising Board members may investigate or action certain issues.
- The Board can also direct its peer advisory groups (these consist of managers in similar areas – such as human resources - from each Crown Research Institute) to comment or report upon particular issues
- The Board, its sub-committees and peer advisory groups, meet with other groups in science, business and other interest areas to discuss matters of strategic interest and to exchange views.
The Board meets every second month, commencing February.
