Muttonbirds' Pacific epic
Sooty shearwaters (titi / muttonbirds) are the size of a small seagull. Yet their annual 64,000km Pacific journey is the longest recorded via electronic tracking. NIWA tracks them for clues into their drastically declining numbers, including links to climate change.
